Albania appreciates the intellectual contribution of Prof. Dr. Fatmir Sulejmani, UT Faculty of Philology Dean

On December 8, 2017, in the premises of the Albanian Academy of Sciences in Tirana, the international organization of literary creators, PEN ALBANIA, awarded the prize for intellectual contribution in the field of Albanian studies to the Dean of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Dr. Fatmir Sulejmani.

This award to the Dean of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Fatmir Sulejmani, was bestowed by the president of PEN Center Albania, Entela Kasi. She said that literature is the universal homeland of mankind and is the amount and dimension of freedom. "Works of art remain a precious asset for humanity regardless of ethnicity, language, race, religion, and political beliefs! Our deepest gratitude to personalities of culture, who in difficult times honored the PEN Center Albania by coming to Tirana, to sign the International PEN Charter, as: Ali Daci, Safet Vrbički Hadrović, Flamur Shala, Fatmir Sulejmani, Flutura Açka, and Nuradin Imeraj. A special thanks to the secretariat of PEN Center Albania, Prenda Sejdia, Eglantina Mirashi, Edmond Petraj, for their willingness to manage the activities of PEN in Albania. Appreciation for the work and commitment of the writer Sadik Bejko, for the joint work in managing of this important center for the national culture in the country and abroad. Deepest gratitude to the Chairman of the Governing Board of PEN Center Albania, Mr. Çerçiz Loloci, who governed PEN Albania with dignity, where climate, environment and opportunities often have been difficult”, said the president of PEN Center Albania, Entela Kasi.

Whereas the Dean of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Fatmir Sulejmani, said that with this award it has been recognized and honored all his activity over the years. " I consider the awarded prize by PEN ALBANIA a serious respect for my modest contribution in the field of Albanian studies – in the protection of Albanian linguistic, literary and cultural values and in their cultivation and promotion ... I consider the award as a satisfaction for all my 35 years of activity as a publicist, publisher, literary writer, translator, university professor and literary scholar”, said the Prof. Dr. Fatmir Sulejmani.

It is a guarantee for fundamental human rights, freedom of speech, linguistic rights and promoter of dialogue, stability, peace in all countries of the world. PEN Center Albania operates based on International PEN Charter by respecting the status and the principles of PEN International.
