University of Tetova’s Faculty of Law students visited the Parliament of Republic of Macedonia

Students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tetova, accompanied by Doc. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli and Prof. Dr. Ylber Sela, conducted a professional study visit to the highest legal-legislative institution, the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia.

During their stay in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, students were received by the Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, who in front of the students spoke about the specifics of the organization, activity and the work of the Parliament in general. He also informed the students about the legislative procedure, the use of the Badinter principle, the role of political parties and their debates among them in the spirit of adopting quality laws, and had a fruitful debate with students, enabling them to get acquainted with all issues concerned.

After this, students visited the professional services of the Parliament, where they were closely acquainted with the practical way of conduction of parliamentary sessions, starting with the way of electing the MPs, which is determined by the Electoral Code, convention of sessions, the role of the Speaker of the Parliament, vice-Presidents, General Secretary and the Parliamentary Institute as well as the sectors that are organized and operate within it. They were also acquainted with the way of implementing the coordination process of the Speaker of Parliament with the heads of parliamentary groups. They were directly acquainted with the organization and operation of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, as an institution that adopts the laws, the constitution of the country, the control over the government as well as many other functions.

 

To the President of the Parliament, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, in sign of appreciation, the professors and students gave him the publications of the International Scientific Journal titled Justicia, which is published by the Faculty of Law of the University of Tetova.
