A delegation from the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Tetova, headed by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, today, on the 113th anniversary of the Congress of Manastir, the Alphabet of the Albanian language, visited the Museum of Alphabet in Manastir, where from November 14-22, 1908 the Congress conducted the works for the unification of the alphabet of the Albanian language.

The Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, together with the professors and student representatives were received by the director of this cultural institution, Zait Aliu.

Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi emphasized that this date our history has given the place and the role that belongs to it, therefore it is the duty of educational-scientific institutions, historians, linguists, ethnologists, Albanian and foreign intellectuals, to shed light on the complex historical, political and cultural circumstances of the past period and to bring as many facts as possible about this event so important for the entire Albanian people.

Also, Dean Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, during this visit, on behalf of the Rector of the University of Tetova Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, the director of the Museum of the Albanian Alphabet, Zait Aliu, as a sign of gratitude bestowed the portrait of the founder, the first and historical Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Fadil Sulejmani.

On this occasion, Director Aliu expressed gratitude and highly appreciated the contribution of the University of Tetova in preserving and cultivating the standard Albanian language. In front of the present guests, the students of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Sena Hoda and Nexhmije Sulejmani, evoked memories and presented with recitals for the journey of Albanian letters until the final adoption of the unified Alphabet.

It should be noted that, on the 113th anniversary of the Congress of Manastir, the University of Tetova has organized the XV International Seminar of Albanology, whose works were conducted on the topic: “Albanians and the culture of memory. “Albanians and the culture of remembrance”.
