Assistant professor of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Mr. Sc. Dardan Dehari, and three other skiers from our country, took part in the alpine skiing world championship in Are, Sweden, from 4 to 17 February 2019.
In this ski race assistant professor MSc Dardan Dehari, represented the North Macedonia National Team in slalom and giant slalom disciplines. Out of a total of 170 competing skiers from all over the world in the slalom discipline, he was ranked 43rd, while in the giant slalom discipline the skier Dardan Dehari was ranked in the 66th position.
He participated in this world skiing championship after 4 years of pause he had done in this sport. “My participation in this championship proved to be successful because I did not have expectations for such positive results. It has been more than 4 years since I was drawn from ski races, but in the absence of skiers in coordination with representatives of the representation, I had to represent the country in these races. For us athletes, participation in different championships is very important, because besides the competing character we meet with old friends, we are also acquainted with new friends from all over the world. I think that in our country we should invest more in winter touristic centers in order to develop skiing in all disciplines and to have as many skiers as possible in the future, who will score positive results and will achieve success in the international arena” says the skier, MSc. Dardan Dehari.
He also said that from the meetings he has conducted with skiers and representatives from different countries of the world, special importance has been given to the promotion of the University of Tetova, respectively the Faculty of Physical Culture and in particular the skiing and disciplines which students learn in theory and apply them in practice in the touristic centers of Macedonia.
