Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani attended the International Scientific Conference “Albanological Studies in Italy”, organized by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo. The conference proceedings were conducted on October 22- 23, 2019 and were attended by about 50 referrals from Kosovo, Albania, Italy, USA, France, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia and others with their scientific contributions. Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani read his paper entitled “Francesco Altimari on the Albanian admirative in the Balkan Context”. In addition to renowned local and foreign researchers, such as: E. Çabej, I. Ajeti, S. Riza, Sh. Demiraj, B. Bokshi, K. Topalli, N. Jokli, A. Desnickaja, W. Fidler, V. Friedman, etc, an important place also has the contribution of Prof. Francesco Altimarti, for the past of “supposing” (e kryera e “supozimit”) namely in his study “Observations for the past of “supposing” – “Arbëreshë linguistic and literary observations”. Professor F. Altimari in his article for the past of “supposing” of the Arbëreshë the second thesis on the creation of the admirative under the influence of Turkish in the grammatical structure of the Albanian and Slavic languages of the Balkans, opposes and maintains Fidler’s position that the latter is of the opinion that the admirative was created as a result of the mutual influence on the Balkan languages (Albanian in one side, Bulgarian and Macedonian on the other side).
At the end Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani based on the Professor Altimar’s studies, claims that the admirative is not found in any of the 50 Arbëreshë dialects of Italy, because in the 15th century this new way was still on the way of formation and thus the past of “supposing” in the circle of the verbal system of the Arbëreshë would represent the first “nucleus” of this mode of speech, which was then formed in the common Albanian through the grammaticalization of the analytic construction of the past and the extension of the indeterminacy function that is rooted in this verbal time.
