At the University of Podgorica in the Republic of Montenegro, on 24 April 2019 was held the Fourth Rectors’ Forum of Southeast Europe and Western Balkans. Initially, the Rules of Procedure of the Forum were approved by the participating rectors and the Inter-Institutional Academic Cooperation Agreement was signed.
The definition of common inter-university objectives in relation to the development of higher education at the regional level, in the field of science and art, research and knowledge transfer, as well as the plan for strengthening academic integrity, remain the primary goals of this forum.
This forum was attended by the rectors of universities from Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans, among whom was the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti. He, referring to the inter-institutional cooperation agreement, said that this initiative opens the way for all the universities of this forum to easily accomplish their strategic goals and interests by operating in different fields such as: investing in modern technical-technological infrastructure, investments in scientific research with the support of various international funds, which support higher education policies in our region and beyond.
Furthermore, the Rector of the University of Podgorica, Prof. Dr. Danillo Nikolic noted that this agreement has a number of options for improving the prospects for international cooperation and development in the region. According to him, it is now time to move from the proposals of this forum to concrete actions. He added that it is very important that the joint ideas be transferred to auditors and laboratories of the universities of this forum, mobilizing many disciplinary and research teams to work on deepening knowledge and information as well as establishing a common scientific base and research infrastructure.
During his stay at the University of Podgorica, the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, participated in the marking of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of this university, while in gratitude for the inter-institutional cooperation, he gifted the Rector of the University of Podgorica, Prof. Dr. Danillo Nikolic, with the portrait of our national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg. The visit of the Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, at the University of Podgorica was concluded with the planting of an olive tree in the campus of this university.
