From 27 to 30, June 2019, in Seville, Spain, was held the 27th International European Congress of European Association of Endoscopic Surgery, with participants from many countries around the world, as well as renowned endoscopic surgery experts, where they presented the latest achievements in this field, with a special emphasis on robotics. At this scientific gathering, the University of Tetova was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Kastriot Haxhirexha, who in front of scientific researchers from different countries of the world presented his works dedicated to laparoscopic surgery.
In addition to the scientific activity, he conducted several meetings with eminent endoscopic surgery professors from other universities, such as: Prof. Dr. Jaap Bonjer, Professor of Surgery and Head of Surgery Department in Amsterdam, Prof. Jérémie Lefevre, Head of Endoscopic Surgery at “Pierre and Marie Curie” University in Paris, Dr. Horacio Asbun, Professor of Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and Head of Surgery Department at the Clinic, Prof. Nicole Bouvy, Chair of EAES, Prof. Salvador Morales Conde, president of the EAES Congress, Prof. Andrea Pietrabissa – Italy, Prof. Eduardo Targarona – Barcelona, as well as many other personalities of surgery.
In the meetings that he conducted with Prof. Michael Brunt – Head of Surgery Department at Washington University and Dr. Ahmaad Nassar – Professor of Surgery at the University of Glasgow, the two professors expressed their readiness for a working visit in the future to meet the professors and students of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tetova.
Dean Prof. Dr. Kastriot Haxhirexha at this congress also attended a training course on laparoscopic biliary tract surgery organized by “Shtorz” Company under the supervision of Prof. Nasaar from the University of Glasgow.
In the conversations with these professors, as well as through the contacts with representatives of “Shtorz” Company, was discussed the possibility of organizing in the future such training courses within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tetova.
