From 10 to 13 of June 2019, the Institute of Ecology and Technology of the University of Tetova was visited by Prof. Dr. Bernard Dietrich from the Museum of Natural Sciences in Paris, accompanied by Ms. Anne – Marie Dietrich, Ms. Michelle Lemonier -Darsemon and Mr. Christian Darsemon.
During their visit to the Institute of Ecology and Technology of UT, they were received by the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Bernard Dietrich for this institute donated a microscope along with equipment and other accompanying tools which are used to isolate DNA sequences from different insects. This donation supplied the laboratory of the Institute of Ecology and Technology with modern equipment for contemporary research in the field of genetic engineering.
At the same time, Prof. Dr. Bernard Detrich expressed readiness to train new staff to work in the field for which he is specialized. Mrs. Michelle Lemonier – Darsemon and Mr. Christian Darsemon donated to our library the precious Encyclopedia of Natural Sciences with 21 volumes as well as important professional books and 40 copies of renown scientific journals with contemporary content from the field of nature sciences.
During this period, in addition to the professors from the Natural Sciences Museum of Paris, the Institute of Ecology and Technology of the University of Tetova was also visited by the General Director of the Global Institute for Water, Environment and Health from Geneva, Prof. Dr. Nidal Salim. The latter, while staying at the University of Tetova, was received by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti. In this meeting was discussed about the possibilities of future cooperation between the two institutes in order to realize some joint projects for the protection of the environment.
The Rector, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti expressed his gratitude to all the professors for the support they provide to this institute, hoping that in the future all plans for the preparation of the projects of the Institute for Ecology and Technology will be realized, which will create a strong scientific impact and will impact the overall scientific-research activity of the University of Tetova.
It is worth mentioning that during these days, professors from France and Switzerland together with our professors and students of our University conducted several study visits to the Sharr Mountain where they were closely acquainted with the biodiversity of this mountain. While Prof. Dr. Nexhbedin Beadini briefly presented them with two pilot projects that relate to the long-term water monitoring strategy and histopathological changes.
