After the grave situation in Albania as a consequence of the earthquake of November 26, that struck Durrës and Thumana, the Senate of the University of Tetova, at the meeting that was held today on November 28, 2019, made a decision to allocate a donation in the amount of 10,000 euros, to help families affected by the above-mentioned earthquake. With this decision, the University of Tetova is in solidarity with our brothers and sisters from the Republic of Albania, who unfortunately were shattered by this natural disaster with human consequences and considerable material damage.
On this occasion the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, at the same time the chair of the Senate, emphasized that this decision for donation we consider it as an obligation for the Albanian citizens when we consider that in such situations responding and providing assistance is very important and necessary. He also said that these funds are probably insufficient given the enormous damage they have caused, however the University of Tetova joins the initiative of many local, regional and international institutions that have been activated to be in solidarity with Albania.
The Rector of UT congratulated and thanked our students, who during these days in the organization of the Student Parliament, committed for raising funds for this issue.
