The Student Parliament of the University of Tetova, together with representatives of the International Peace Youth Group from South Korea and students from all of our academic units organized a peace event.
The President of the Student Parliament of University of Tetova, Islam Imeri, said that this event is aimed at encouraging young people to promote peace and through written letters of peace, to convey different messages for the preservation of peace all over the world. “Today, all of us together we wrote short letters of messages of peace, contributing all together for the protection of peace as the most important value for our lives. We, as Albanians, have historically been distinguished as a peace-loving people, it was not by accident that the noble peace prize some years ago was won by one of the greatest figures that honors us as a nation, Saint Theresa, who says: “Peace begins with a smile”, and how dare we not to love it, to preserve it and take care of it”, said Islam Imeri.
Representative of the International Peace Youth Group, Minwoo Gill, said that this organization this year is working intensively on the project called “Peace Letter”. According to her, young people from all over the world write peace letters to their presidents to ask them to agree to the adoption of the Declaration of Peace and the Cessation of War and we accept them from youth organizations and their members from all countries of the world. “We are here today, at the University of Tetova together with the students, to bring together the hearts of young people in Macedonia and we would like to give you the peace letters written by your students to your president to show their heart and their support for peace. Thank you for joining the Peace Letters event today and I hope we can make a step forward towards world peace”, said Ms. Minwoo Gill.
Today’s activity was attended by a large number of students and was concluded by reading some peace messages.
