There are two particulars in this presentation: the first one is that it is promoted outside the borders of Albanian politics, and for this, on behalf of the institution that I lead, I thank the organizers of the seminar and especially the leader of the University, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti. The second one is that the work is presented after the death of the honored academician, and this activity, in such a well-educated environment, becomes the expression of the serious and deserving appreciation of the scientific product that the academician inherited to us. Kolec Topalli mainly dealt with issues of historical phonetics and etymology of Albanian language”, added among other things Prof. Dr. Valter Memishaj.

I would like to say that there are few scientific researchers of his kind who in a man’s life round up such a synthesis as Professor Topalli had. Such a great experience and research life will miss our science for a long time”- said Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani.
While Prof. Dr. Anila Omari from the Center of Albanological Studies in Tirana stated that the “Etymological Dictionary of Albanian Language” by Professor Kolec Topalli is his last major work, which crowned the experience of a life devoted to scientific research in the field of Albanian language and its history. “Professor Kolec begin his study of the history of Albanian language in the 70s and the first results of this work were published in the only scientific journal of the Institute of Linguistics “Philological Studies”- said Prof. Dr. Anila Omari.
