From March 14 to 18, 2022, at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Hrvoje Jurić from the University of Zagreb, who in front of the students and the academic staff lectured on the topics: “The Idea of Man and the Temptations of Humanism” and “Bioethics and Biopolitics”.
He also had meetings with the rector, Prof. Dr. Reshat Qahilin, President of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, at the same time the institutional coordinator of the CEEPUS network HR-1107-05-2021, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu, as well as the deans of the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Pedagogy, Prof. Dr. Musa Musai and Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, as well as the head of the Center for Peace, Mr. Sc. Donika Kamberi, in which meetings were discussed about future inter-institutional cooperation.
His stay at UT was conducted within the CEEPUS Network, HR-1107-05-2021, Philosophy and interdisciplinarity of which is also part of the study program of Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy.
CEEPUS is the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies in the extended Danube Region, based on an international Agreement. There are 15+ member states currently joining the current CEEPUS III agreement: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. Also participate and the University of Pristina, the University of Prizren and the University of Peja.
The main activity of CEEPUS are the networks of universities of CEEPUS member states, which implement joint programs, within which it covers mobility grants for students and teachers of those universities.
Prof. Dr. Hrvoje Jurić is a full professor at the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Ethics at the University of Zagreb. He has published five authorial books, a textbook and co-editor of four scientific journals. In addition, he has published about fifty scientific articles and more than two hundred professional, essayistcs and journalistic articles.
He mainly deals with practical philosophy, ethics and bioethics, but his scientific and professional interests also include the philosophy of technology, the philosophy of nature, the philosophy of the media, philosophical hermeneutics, feminist and gender theory, and socio-political issues.
The topics taught by him were closely followed by the students and staff of the Faculty of Philosophy that at the same time also aroused interesting debates.
