The Faculty of Economics of the University of Tetova, in continuation of the academic activities for analysis of the consequences of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the energy crisis in the country’s economy, in the Republic of North Macedonia, today organized a scientific debate on topic “Economic challenges in the period of post-pandemic”.
Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Raman Ismaili, in his speech emphasized that the post pandemic situation hit many dimensions of social life, both in nationally and globally sphere, but what will be debated today should include the economic dimension, as one of the determinants of economic welfare . “The economic drama of this period, which came as a result of the COVID -19 pandemic, the energy crisis and the attack of the Russian Federation on a sovereign state such as Ukraine, resulted in numerous macroeconomic shocks of national economies. I appreciate that the main topic of this gathering is complex, multidimensional and accurate considering the fact that, in many aspects, the national economies of our countries are now at the crossroads of further action to improve their economies “, said the Dean of the Faculty of Economics , Prof. Dr. Raman Ismaili.
The Director of Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, Drilon Iseni focused on business challenges during the period of crisis. The economy and business are planned based on expectations while the main challenge is the uncertainty over what will happen in world level, globally level, and what will be reflected in the country’s economy and the point is that today nothing is normal. The Russia-Ukraine conflict is also reflected in us, and the first effect of this crisis was definitely the disruption of the supply chain and later the massive increase in prices of many different products, underlined, among others, the Director of Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, Drilon Iseni.
