At the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Tetova, a round table was organized on the topic: “Digitalization in the field of education- advantages and disadvantages of digital communication”. On this occasion, experts from the field of education present to the students and academic staff of the Faculty of Pedagogy their views on the digitization process in the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as in the Republic of Albania and Republic of Kosovo.
At this table, the focus was on the advantages and disadvantages of digital communication, where it was compared and discussed where our countries stand in this direction. Participants in this debat were: Prof. Dr. Bardhyl Musai from the Republic of Albania, Prof. Dr. Edmond Beqiri from the Republic of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Shpetim Latifi, senior adviser in the Ministry of Education and Science in our country, Mr. Setki Ismaili, and journalist Laura Paparniku, who is well informed about education in our country.
On behalf of the leadership of the University of Tetova, the participants in this round table were greeted by the president of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, while the dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi mentioned that the current topic for which there is still a dilemma is whether we are for or against digitalization in education.
I think that within the framework of global processes in education, digitalization and the digital competences of pupils, students, teachers and professors is an imperative of the time and in this direction we must build and strengthen our capacities” . said the dean of Faculty of Pedagogy, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi.
The representative of the Association “Education” from Switzerland, Doc. Dr. Mahir Mustafa expressed that through the realization of this table, together with experts in this field, we want to look at both sides, the advantages, but also the disadvantages, to ascertain each one for himself, without impositions, because at the end of the day, each one decides for himself. “If the impact of digitalization is great, of course we are humans that are affected and we affect, and I think that the future teachers from this conference will come out with a single determination, that they will try to be in trend with the terms of digitalization, or will they pay more attention to their self, their profession, the protection of children’s rights, but also themselves, that’s why I’m curious like everyone else about what results we will get from this conference” , said Doc. Dr. Mahir Mustafa, representative of the Association “Education” from Switzerland.
The education expert, Satki Ismaili, expressed that it is a pleasure to talk and debate about educational issues in front of the students of the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Tetovo, who are preoccupied with the challenges of education. “I, as well, am joining this activity for digitization in education. Digitization is an inevitable part of education and it is something that is required nowadays. Students, live in a time where they want greater creativity, and greater creativity is achieved with a part of digitalization, where through different platforms, different applications, synchronous and asynchronous activities, which the students and teachers can realize, they make the lesson more creative and no doubts we are sure that the results will not be missing”, emphasized Satki Ismaili.
