On the occasion of the Women’s History  Month, the American Corner in Tetovo, in cooperation with the Institute for Leadership and Public Policy, as well as with the University of Tetova, organized a panel discussion on the topic: “Women in business: advantages, challenges and opportunities”. Part of this panel discussion were, Eric Meyer, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, Pranvera Kasami, President of the Institute for Leadership and Public Policy, Susanne Machacz, director at the Bayer company, Selvie Shaqiri, business manager and Artina Kamberi, Director of the Technology Park of the University of Tetova.

Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, in his speech said that such an event is inspiring to take action towards creating a more equal and inclusive business world. “We know that when women succeed, businesses and communities thrive. Research shows that companies with more gender diversity tend to be more innovative and profitable. It is clear that supporting and empowering women in business is not only the right thing, but also the smart thing”, said the Rector, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti.

While the panelists talked more about their experiences in the field of entrepreneurship, sharing with the attendees the challenges and difficulties faced by women in the business world. They also gave their recommendations on how to overcome all these challenges and for women to be even more involved in entrepreneurship.
