Minister of Justice in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, Krenar Lloga, on May 5, 2023, visited the University of Tetova. On this occasion, he held a meeting with the leaders of the University, Rector Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, President of the Senate Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, Vice-Rectpr for Finance and Development Prof. Dr. Faton Shabani, Secretary General, Adem Beadini and Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli.

In this meeting, the Minister of Justice, Krenar Lloga, to the leaders of the University of Tetova bestowed the decision of the Ministry of Justice for the registration of the Legal Clinic of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tetova, in the registry of this ministry. This decision was brought on the basis of article 10 paragraph 4 of the Law on free legal aid of the RNM.

Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti said that the decision to register the Legal Clinic in the registry of this department for providing free assistance is of vital importance for our University and the Faculty of Law, since this clinic will serve the practical work of students, it will also provide free services to other parties. The Legal Clinic is a project supported by the US Embassy in our country, and with today’s decision we now have formal legal status. As well as, the Rector Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti thanked the Minister of Justice, Krenar Lloga, for making this decision, adding that our University remains open to all forms of cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, where this ministry may consider that it needs our contribution, since within the Faculty of Law we have a significant number of lecturers where everyone can help in the fields they belong.

While the Minister of Justice, Krenar Lloga, said that after the request directed by the Faculty of Law of the University of Tetova for the registration of the Legal Clinic, I have just accepted the request immediately with the greatest desire, I have tried to implement it as soon as possible. It has been my destiny that I, as the Minister of Justice, to contribute to the University of Tetova, in particular to the Faculty of Law, where today we officially submit the decision on the registration for the provision of free legal aid. I hope that this is only the beginning and we will look at other possibilities of cooperation in the future.

Through the Legal Clinic, professors and students of the Faculty of Law will help citizens through information and advice on violated rights. Citizens can seek advice mainly on issues related to property-legal rights; ensuring social rights, rights as consumers, rights from pension and disability insurance, rights violated in front of the administrative bodies, rights from criminal disputes, from family disputes and domestic violence and so on.
