Faculty of Law of the University of Tetova and the Institute for Political and International Studies organized the VII Edition of the European Week ” European Days”.
On May 4, the solemn opening of this edition took place in the premises of ITSHKSH, on this occasion addressed to the participants the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, Director of the Institute for Political and International Studies, Prof. Dr. Ylber Sela, Director of ISCHA, Prof. Dr. Skender Hasani and the Deputy Director of the Immigration Agency, Izmit Nura. There was conducted also a panel discussion by Prof. Dr. Izer Maksuti and Faik Nika, President of the Albanian National Council in Montenegro. The topic of the discussion was “Albanians and Europe”.
On May 5, was held a meeting between the ambassador of the European Union in RNM, David Geer and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, the Director of the Institute for Political and International Studies, Prof. Dr. Ylber Sela, students and activists from public life. Pleurat Ajvazi, Arrita Vrenezi, Eren Ali, Besjana Izairi, Behar Rushit and Ariton Rama presented the topic “The role of young people in the promotion of European values”. The EU ambassador in RMV emphasized the importance of the integration process, the priority and the challenges of its accomplishment.
On May 8, was held a lecture in front of the students of the Faculty of Law by the Ambassador of Sweden, Her Excellency Ami Larsson Jain, in which case she was initially received by the Rector of the UT, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, Director of the Institute for Political and International Studies, Prof. Dr. Ylber Sela, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu and the Vice-Dean for education, Prof. Dr. Ebrar Ibraimi.
The Rector informed the Ambassador of Sweden about the development of the university, its main activity and its contribution to the general good, all the achievements in the field of education, science and publishing activity. In the framework of her presentation, the Ambassador in front of the students of the Faculty of Law elaborated the process of integration in the European Union. On this occasion, the dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli affirmed the fact that we always support cooperation within the framework of the overall contribution and especially in the EU integration process and that the country is facing a very serious process related to the issue of constitutional changes and changes in the Electoral Code, in order to paving the way for the start of negotiations for the country’s full membership in the EU. The Swedish Ambassador emphasized that the future of the Western Balkans is in the European Union. The Republic of North Macedonia was faced professionally in the screening process, the issue of security, preservation of democratic values and the fight against crime and corruption remains a priority.
On May 9 in the premises of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tetova, in the presence of the Rector Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti and the Vice-Rector for Finance, Prof. Dr. Faton Shabani, was conducted the presentation of the best essays and the ceremony of awarding certificates for the most distinguished essays.
