Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, who stands in the US, held a meeting at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. He was received by the Dean of the College of Education, William A. Pitney, from whom he was informed about the first, second and third cycle study programs offered by this College.

Afterwards, the meeting continued with the broader management staff of the College of Education at NIU. In this meeting, Dean Mehmedi expressed his gratitude for the continuation of the cooperation of the University of Tetova with the University of Northern Illinois, which dates from 2017, while from this year began the cooperation between the two faculties. He also informed the attendees with the history of the journey and development of the University of Tetova and the Faculty of Pedagogy, from its foundation until now, the study programs offered by the Faculty of Pedagogy in all three cycles, the way of studies, as well as the conduction of the activity educational-scientific. Professors in attendance, who are part of the management staff of the College of Education, Carolyn Pluim – department of Leadership and Psychology – Education, David A. Walker – department of Educational Technology, Research and Evaluation, Donna E. Werderich – department of curriculum and of instruction, Todd A. Gilson – Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Christopher Lowe – Director of Student Success, Eric Junco – Director of Equity, gave brief elaborations of the academic programs as well as the work of the departments in which they are involved . The meeting ended with a conclusion, to draw up a joint project by both faculties and to see the possibilities of cooperation in the sphere of exchange of experiences, of positive practices with mutual visits between the academic staff and students, as well as cooperation in the sphere of scientific research.

What stood out during the meeting was the presence of the portrait of the first Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Fadil Sulejmani, as well as the figure of Saint Mother Teresa in the showcases of the meeting hall, that were donated during the stay of delegation of the UT in December 2017.

In the framework of the cooperation between the two Universities, the Rector of that time, Prof. Dr Vullnet Ameti on December 2017, was declared Doctor Honoris Causa of the Northern Illinois University, it was founded the Center for Peace and Transcultural Communication, while the exhibition on the history of the University of Tetova was opened in the Blackwell Museum of the Northern Illinois University.
