As part of the Open Day, on April 25, 2024, was held a meeting and workshop at the premises of the Faculty of Pedagogy with kindergartens that conduct activities in the Albanian language in North Macedonia. Dean Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi thanked those present for their participation and emphasized that this marks the beginning of a new chapter of trilateral cooperation between the Faculty of Pedagogy, kindergartens for Albanian-speaking children, and the Association “Arsimi” in Switzerland. This collaboration focuses on the professional development of educators.
The training was conducted by representatives of the Association “Arsimi” from Switzerland, including Erika Masina Beuggert, who is recognized in Kosovo and North Macedonia as the Ambassador of the teaching profession for the preschool cycle. Additionally, the training was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahir Mustafa, a lecturer in social sciences, pedagogy, and education, who resides and works in Switzerland.
The first part of the training focused on the theme of “Learning through play”, integrating theoretical insights derived from recent scientific studies with practical experiences from both Switzerland and Kosovo. The second part was dedicated to structuring a half-day of hands-on work with children in pre-school kindergartens. This segment included activities guided by educators as well as opportunities for free creative expression.
In the third part, the structure and content of the five-day basic course were presented. The fourth part focused on the implementation of the course and the selection of participants. The five-day course is scheduled to take place from October 14th to October 18th, 2024, and will be funded by the Association “Arsimi- Bildung”. Educators will be selected from among the participants of the basic course to attend subsequent trainer/multiplier courses. The project will be executed jointly by the Faculty of Pedagogy and the Association “Arsimi”.
In this event, participants included directors and educators from kindergartens in Tetovo, Gostivar, Kiçevo, Debar, Saraj, Çair, and Lipkovo.
