Graduates of Figurative Art of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Tetova, on Saturday (on June 8, 2024), opened the next traditional exhibition at the Cultural Center in Struga. It is about the traditional exhibition that the students of Figurative Art of our university hold every year in the city by the Drin under the motto “Exhibition of Graduates”.

At the opening of the exhibition, alongside many art lovers from Struga, various personalities from the fields of art, culture, and business, as well as professors and students, were present. Among them was the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli. In his opening speech, he highlighted the mission of the University of Tetova, which this year marks its 30th anniversary. He expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the people of Struga, who have contributed to this educational institution from which many important figures in social life have emerged. The Rector also emphasized the work of the professors of the Faculty of Arts’ and praised the works presented at the exhibition. He added that he feels honored to be among the students and to experience the emotions that only artists can create.

In his welcoming speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor, Senad Abduli, congratulated the students for their work and dedication to their chosen profession. He underlined the significance of this exhibition for both the students and the city of Struga. Like the top leaders of UT, the students also expressed their gratitude for the commitment, contribution, and tireless work of the Art History professor at the University of Tetova, Professor, Mixhait Pollozhani. For years, he has provided students the opportunity to showcase their talent and academic achievements throughout their four years of study. Thanks to Professor Pollozhani’s idea, students have the chance to experience the challenges of presenting their work to the public by managing everything themselves. This includes the creation and construction of the works, the selection and photography of the pieces, the design of catalogs and posters, and the arrangement of the exhibition.

Through works with different themes and motifs, graduates Ensar Feta, Arlind Arifi, Rina Murati, Enisa Jusufi, Amir Demiri, Hadisa Bajrami, Leonora Asani, Bardha Aliti, Armina Samahodaj, and Binesa Sala have used paintings, graphics, plaques, sculpture, and conceptual art to convey ideas, emotions, and messages through the universal language of art. On behalf of the students, Binesa Sala spoke, emphasizing that this exhibition provides an opportunity for students to share a glimpse of their creations with art lovers. “Despite the fact that this exhibition symbolizes the closing of our chapter as graduates, we will remain a beautiful chapter of this university, just as this higher educational institution will be the most beautiful book of our lives,’ said among other things the student Sala.

Regarding this exhibition, the Vice-Dean for Education, Professor Jëlldëz Asani, remarked that this presentation represents a step towards the future for these students. It provides an overview of the commitment and passion each of them has demonstrated in their field of study, showcasing the fruits of their labor. The public will have the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate these works of art.
