On October 24, 2024, the Student Parliament of the University of Tetova organized an awareness-raising activity in the city of Tetovo focused on the prevention and early detection of breast cancer.

The President of the Student Parliament, Ladon Murseli and the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Elezi, together with the academic staff and students, in this activity that coincides with “Pink October”, have emphasized the importance of raising awareness in the prevention of diseases such as breast cancer.

To support this effort, custom flyers were distributed to citizens, emphasizing the importance of regular medical check-ups, physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and proper nutrition—all factors that help prevent breast cancer.

According to doctors, breast cancer is one of the most treatable types of cancer. They note that various treatment options are available, including hormonal therapies, chemotherapy, and surgical interventions. The appropriate treatments delay the progression of the disease much better than the existing preparations, offering a new option for patients.

The Student Parliament and the Faculty of Medical Sciences have continuously organized activities of this nature related to the protection of public health.
