Within the framework of 30th anniversary of the University of Tetova, a series of activities and festive events have been organized to mark this important moment. One of these events is the group exhibition of Fine Arts professors from the Faculty of Arts, held on November 26, 2024, at the “Čifte Hamam” gallery in Skopje. This event was organized under the guidance of curator Prof. Dr. Jëlldëz Asani and art critic Prof. Dr. Mixhait Pollozhani, as an inseparable part of this important jubilee for the University of Tetova.
This event was also honored by the presence of the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, who congratulated the professors for this magnificent event held in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the University of Tetova. This jubilee, at its core, is a strong testament to the University’s commitment to higher education and a call for everyone involved to keep working with passion and dedication, contributing to an even brighter future.
A few words were also shared by one of the founders of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Miftar Memeti, who spoke about the challenges and successes of the Faculty over the years.
Furthermore, Professor Mixhait Pollozhani, drawing from the overview prepared in the preface of the catalog, briefly discussed the concepts and ideas behind the works created for the exhibition titled ’30 Years of Art and Art.’
Professor of Art History, Jëlldëz Asani, as the curator and coordinator of the exhibition, highlighted that this event is a special moment, as it marks the first time that all the fine artists from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Tetova have come together at the National Gallery of Macedonia – ‘Čifte Hamam.’ This is despite the fact that each of them has held individual exhibitions in prestigious galleries worldwide. Additionally, another notable aspect of this exhibition is the involvement of artists from three generations, some of whom are founders and builders of this esteemed educational institution, while the others are creators and professors who, over the past 30 years, have graduated from the University of Tetova.
In order to present themselves and the Faculty in the most dignified way, the professors chose to ensure that the works reflected their stylistic character and creative signature. The artworks within the walls of the ‘Čifte Hamam’ gallery represent a manifestation of life, human endeavors, and the evolution of art and creativity. The exhibition is a product of the dynamism of creativity, passions tied to cultural and artistic identity, and a call to reflect on the values that unite us.
With this event, we aim to demonstrate that the professors of the Faculty of Arts strive to uphold the same ideals as our founders—to be a source of national pride. Therefore, let this exhibition serve as a reflection of our dedication to preserving and promoting our cultural and national values, as well as an inspiration for future generations in their artistic journey.
The event was attended also by the President of the Senate of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Kenan Ferati, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Ord. Senad Abduli, the professors of the Faculty of Arts, as well as art lovers and students who significantly contributed to the success of the event.
