University of Tetova participated in the International Conference “The Role of Higher Education in Peacebuilding”, organized in Innsbruck, Austria, by the renowned Aurora European Universities Network, of which is also a part the University of Tetova.

Representatives of the University of Tetova, namely the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Salajdin Salihi, the Director of Center for Peace and Transcultural Communication, MSc. Donika Kamberi, from the Office for Science and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Agon Memeti, and the Head of the Project Management Office, MSc. Artan Osmani, participated in this event held on February 17 and 18. This meeting was an excellent opportunity to share experiences and develop new ideas and projects for promoting peace through education.

In this context, the Director of Center for Peace and Transcultural Communication, MSc. Donika Kamberi, presented her paper titled: “Distant Allies: The Contributions of Geographically Distant of HEIs to Ukraine’s Peace”.

Donika Kamberi, focusing on the current situation in Ukraine, emphasized the special role that the Center for Peace and Transcultural Communication has played in supporting the peace education process and the rebuilding of society after conflict. She also mentioned the university and the center’s engagement as the most vocal advocates for this topic.

The University of Tetova’s participation in the Aurora Conference is a testament to its continued commitment to the development of higher education and support for initiatives for global peace, particularly regarding international efforts related to Ukraine and peace processes in the region.
