Prof. Dr. Përparim Kabo, the former Minister of Education, Dr. Jeton Shaqiri and the Rector of the “Mother Teresa” University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Izet Zeqiri.  In this meeting, representatives of the two educational institutions discussed the possibilities for academic cooperation in various fields, such as student and academic staff exchange, the development of joint research projects, and the organization of various scientific conferences.

After the official meeting, the book “The Bretton Woods Institutions and Albania” by the author and Academician from Albania, Prof. Dr. Anastas Angjeli, was promoted at the Faculty of Economics. At the opening of this promotion, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the UT, Prof. Dr. Salajdin Salihi, stated that this book is important to him because the economy of a country, in this case Albania, is viewed in the context of the global interconnectedness and interdependence. “We live in the era of globalization and intercultural, interethnic, geopolitical, geostrategic, and certainly also economic interdependence. In this world of simulacra, as Jean Baudrillard called it, economic interests overshadow ethical values.  The imbalance between cultural, technological, and economic developments leads to disasters not only material but also moral. Or, as Stefan Zweig wrote in The World of Yesterday, it takes civilization thousands of years back to the moral plane”, – said among other things, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the UT, Prof. Dr. Salajdin Salihi.

The Vice-Dean for Science of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Bardhyl Dauti, said that this book is of interest not only to economists but also to productive members of other professions, particularly intellectuals in the field of economic diplomacy, academics, and students in research profiles.

“The book clearly highlights how macroeconomic balances on an international scale impact the sustainable development of national economies through the involvement of the architecture of international financial institutions. In the end, this book offers an opportunity to reflect on Albania’s relationship with the global economy from a historical perspective and on the role the country can play in an increasingly financially interconnected world. It is an important step toward understanding the past and thinking about our economic future, especially in a period where global economies are facing significant changes and new challenges”, said among other things, the Vice-Dean for Science of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Bardhyl Dauti.

One of the reviewers of the book, Prof. Dr. Adrian Civici – Rector of the Mediterranean University of Albania, praised the book “The Bretton Woods Institutions and Albania” (IMF, WB, GATT-WTO) as a publication with very interesting and valuable content, not only in its theoretical and historical aspects but, above all, in the concrete aspects related to many important developments in the Albanian and regional reality, within the framework of the successful completion of the long and difficult transition process and the opening of the path for Albania’s European integration.

The author of the book, Academician Prof. Dr. Anastas Angjeli, stated that the book being promoted today is professional and economic, offering a perspective on the history of the creation of international financial institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the World Trade Organization, as well as the journey of these institutions in managing the global economy, global crises over 80 years, and at the same time, confronting them with the new challenges faced by the global economy today, with geopolitical and geoeconomic developments. He also discussed Albania’s relations with these institutions and said he was happy that this promotion is taking place at the University of Tetova. “Another perspective in the book is also the relationship of Albania from 1991 until today with these institutions, a relationship which I have personally experienced a good part of, through the state functions I have held. It is a pleasure to make this promotion at the University of Tetova, a university of knowledge, which for more than 30 years has been educating Albanian youth in North Macedonia and shedding light on knowledge, science, and the future of developments, while at the same time advancing the relations between our two universities,” said among other things, the author of the book, Academic, Prof. Dr. Anastas Angjeli.

Their views regarding the book were also given by the Vice-Rector of the Mediterranean University of Albania, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikollaq Pano, Vice-Rector of the Mediterranean University of Albania, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Përparim Kabo, Rector of the “Mother Teresa” University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Izet Zeqiri, and former Minister of Education, Dr. Jeton Shaqiri.
