The Faculty of Philology of the University of Tetova, in cooperation with the Macedonian American Alumni Association, organized a roundtable in honor of the poet and publicist from Tetovo, Murtezan Arifi. This event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani, who stated that this roundtable is an excellent opportunity to honor and reflect on the valuable contributions of the poet Murtezan Arifi, who has left a rich and precious legacy in Albanian literature.

Assessments of the poet’s work were also given by the other panelists at this roundtable. Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Salajdin Salihi, said that his friend Murtezan Arifi left a quality literary heritage with precious artistic and comprehensive values and that his creations were rewarded in many literary competitions. Meanwhile Prof. Dr. Fatmir Sulejmani praised the poetic work of the author Arifi as modestly quantitatively, but unrepeatable and achieved in aesthetic values. MA. Bardhyl Zaimi also expressed his admiration for Murtezan Arifi’s work, stating that the poet was a true friend and a lasting inspiration for the younger generation of creators. Murtezan Arifi remains a special name in Albanian letters, a unique universe, and a poetic dream that holds its place in Albanian literature and beyond.

Today’s activity was also addressed by Zorica Trajkova Strezovska, President of the Macedonian American Alumni Association, who expressed her happiness that this event is part of a project to support graduates (Alumni) in voluntary and extracurricular activities. She also expressed hope that such joint activities will continue in the future. The event concluded with the recitation of some poems by Murtezan Arifi by students of the Department of Albanian Language and Literature.
