As part of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Student Parliament of the University of Tetova organized a discussion panel entitled “Beyond the Diagnosis – A Multidisciplinary Approach to Breast Cancer”. Through this panel, the Student Parliament conveyed a simple yet vital message: one check-up can change a life. The event brought together students, professors, and interested members of the public. The panel featured renowned professionals from the fields of medicine and psychology, who addressed the key aspects of coping with this disease.

The discussion panel was opened by Gent Kurtishi, President of the Student Parliament of the University of Tetova, who stated that the event was organized to convey an important message about health, awareness, and solidarity with all women facing breast cancer. “Breast cancer affects many women, but information, medical check-ups, and proper care can make a significant difference. Therefore, it is important to speak openly about this topic and encourage every woman to take care of her health. As young people and students, let us become the voice of awareness, support, and hope. Let us stand by every woman facing this challenge and show them that they are not alone. Prevention begins with awareness, while hope grows stronger through solidarity”, said Gent Kurtishi, President of the Student Parliament of the University of Tetova.

Meanwhile, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhamed Tairi, addressed the audience on behalf of the faculty. He emphasized that the organization of this event by the Student Parliament demonstrates that students know how to connect university life with the needs of the community and turn their interest in health into concrete action. “Today’s panel topic allows us to consider the full experience of a person facing this disease. The presence of panelists from radiology, surgery, and psychology gives us the opportunity to understand this topic from complementary perspectives. I would like to thank the panelists for their willingness to share their knowledge and experience with us. I encourage you to make the most of this panel by listening, asking questions, and engaging in discussion, as well as sharing the knowledge gained today beyond this room. In this way, this activity becomes valuable for our families and our community as well”, said the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhamed Tairi.

The panelists then discussed the challenges associated with this disease, the importance of early diagnosis, regular medical check-ups, and the psychological aspects of patient care.
