With the organization of the hat-throwing ceremony, University of Tetova, at the Rectorate Square was promoted the generation of graduates for the academic year 2020/2021. On this day marked for the graduates of our University, in addition to the top leadership of the University, were present their parents, family and many citizens from all over Albania territories. The success achieved by them is the fruit of sacrifice, effort and determination of many torchbearers of knowledge to preserve the foundations of education in the mother tongue here in our country. Today, 20 years after the Ohrid Agreement, we are proud to state that a dream, a bold initiative, but at the same time very necessary has been realized, from where come cadres who with their knowledge contribute to the improvement of society! Congratulations on the professional work of all UT academic staff. Success and prosperous career for all graduates”- said First Deputy Prime Minister of our country, Artan Grubi.

As a student with the best GPA of this generation was the graduate of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Drilon Miftari. He, in front of his graduate colleagues and other attendees at the event, addressed with a speech, evoking memories from the time of studies and at the same time congratulated all graduates for the successful completion of their studies. “”In particular, I want to thank this University, which opened its doors and enabled us to realize our dream, here joining the leading staff, professors and assistants who guided us on the right path. We cannot reward this University except by giving our maximum, to raise it as high as possible, by giving our contribution, in our state. I remember when I started studying medicine, 6 years ago and the only question I had in my head was, when will come the end? At the time, this period seemed so long and impossible. But, time passed in the blink of an eye and, like any marathon that has a beginning, the end and its own competitors, also these studies had their beginnings and endings and of course the competitors – us students. For a while, each of us will want to go back in time and enjoy the epithet of student again, but in fact a doctor and every professional in the field in which has studied is always a student”- said the student Drilon Miftari.

The main and concluding speech of this ceremony was given by the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti. He, initially on behalf of the University of Tetova and on behalf of the graduates of this generation expressed the common joy that after two years we again organize one of the main events in this institution of higher education in the Albanian language. “The global Covid-19 pandemic has caused the whole world to change the course of life, reorganize the work of institutions, with the sole purpose – to protect life and prevent the mass spread of the Covid-19 virus. Due to the global health crisis and restrictive measures for the organization of public activities, last year we could not organized the graduation ceremony for graduates in the academic year 2019/2020. Therefore, today let us express our gratitude and appreciation to hundreds of our graduates for their understanding and fair appreciation of the overall situation. It is worth mentioning that the University of Tetova, through the Faculty of Medical Sciences, academic staff, our doctors, who in the first days of the declaration of the pandemic were engaged in the first line of battle against the invisible enemy. Also twelve other academic units, namely our faculties, contributed in various ways, organizing online activities to raise public awareness, to respect the measures against the spread of Covid – 19. Therefore, even today, in this great event, we express our boundless gratitude to our doctors – heroes, for the sacrifice, dedication and uncompromising fight against the plague of this century. Meanwhile, today, thanks to the improvement of the epidemiological situation, the facilitation of measures, but always in implementation of the protocols of the health authorities, our graduates, doctors, engineers, historians, pedagogues, psychologists, lawyers, economists and linguists of the future, who solemnly conclude one of the most beautiful periods of life and together with parents, family and professors, celebrate their common success”- said the Rector of the UT, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti.

Also, in his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti conveyed some messages to all participants at this event, and in particular to parents and graduates: “Honorable friends, We all know that the path to knowledge has never been easy, since if it were so, your sacrifice as parents and the efforts of your children would not be experienced as deeply as we are experiencing it together today, you and us. But the feeling of the meritorious triumph always comes after the committing work, after sleepless nights and after the days spent in search of knowledge. This educational-scientific institution, during almost three decades has given an extraordinary contribution, not only for the education of generations, but has been and will remain the historical fortress of our nation. Dear parents, our graduates and Your children, with their graduation at the University of Tetova, are the greatest proof of the seriousness of this institution, which with all its capabilities and possibilities, aims at the collective progress in the world of science and aspires towards a bright future for these names, who will sooner or later be heard as success stories, in even bigger audiences than today’s one. Dear graduates, You are completing your chapter of life that for many students before and after you will be the happiest and most decisive one in the career years that await you and for which we hope and believe that it will be filled with successes, making proud also the University of Tetova – the home that brought you knowledge. As a Rector of the University of Tetova, I am fully confident in your ability to start a professional career. You, as many hundreds of thousands of young people before you, chose to study at the University of Tetova, successfully followed the path of education, and thus became the most vital part, the symbolism, and the most magnificent expression that gives life to our University. Thank you all for these beautiful years we passed together and let me tell you that we are experiencing this great moment just as you and your honorable parents, who sacrificed and contributed to the common future of this society, of this University, which, with you on the lead, cannot be other than bright and inspirational for the generations to come. Finally, in my name and on behalf of the University of Tetova, I convey wholehearted congratulations to all of you who have honored us today, on this solemn day and in this mutual joy of successful completion of the academic year 2020/2021”- thus ended the speech of the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti.

Then, with the call of the Rector to make this manifestation even more beautiful, in the Rectorate Square, around 1000 thousand graduates threw their hats, marking one of the most beautiful events in their career during their studies. The ceremony ended with an artistic program by the famous singer in Tetovo, Elita Ziberi.
