As part of the three-year project “Promoting a Safe School Environment”, the Faculty of Pedagogy successfully organized an advanced workshop today on the topic “Violence and Discrimination in Schools”. This interdisciplinary and interactive workshop gathered students from all study programs, who actively engaged in discussions and practical activities.

The activity was led by a dedicated team of professors from the Faculty: Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, Prof. Dr. Besa Havziu-Ismaili, Prof. Dr. Ardita Ceka, Prof. Dr. Makfirete Ameti, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Gëzim Xhambazi. They shared their expertise on the concerning phenomena of violence and discrimination in the school environment, offering both theoretical and practical perspectives on how to address them.

The main objectives of the workshop were: To inform students about the forms and consequences of violence and discrimination in schools; to develop skills for identifying and implementing strategies to prevent these phenomena; to encourage ethical behavior and empathy in the educational environment; to create a concrete action plan for improving student safety and well-being.

The students were distinguished for their commitment and professionalism shown throughout the workshop. Through group work, simulations, and role-playing, they analyzed real situations of violence and discrimination, offering solutions based on creative and contemporary strategies. Their experience as former students, enriched with examples from the school reality, led to in-depth discussions and concrete suggestions for positive changes in schools.

At the conclusion of the activity, participants were awarded certificates of participation as recognition for their commitment and active contribution.
