Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of Tetova today organized a workshop on architecture and construction. The purpose of this workshop is to inform the high school graduates that what is architecture and construction, why these two fields should be studied and to get to know their future profession as architectural and construction engineers.
Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, in front of the graduates, emphasized that, we as leaders of the University, we will try to inform you soon the structure of the study programs, but also about the profiles that we offer. “Faculty of Applied Sciences is among the most consolidated faculties in our University. The academic staff employed in this faculty, but also the conditions we offer are among the best and contemporary. I think that proper professional preparation, especially in the Architecture and Construction program, should be an appropriate measure, and for this, some indicators show that we continuously consider, the number of students who are employed, not only in companies in the country, but also in external companies, as well as in important institutions, show how successful are our students. Today, through the workshops, you will have the opportunity to see and get to know your future teachers. You will be able to understand in essence what is architecture and construction. University of Tetova is a public university in the Albanian language, the University whose primary goal is the preparation of the cadres of our society, and this organization is exactly in this spirit. For us, the most important thing is the selection of the right profession, because in that way you contribute both to society and to the University”, said the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti.
Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Enis Jakupi said that this workshop was organized within the Faculty of Applied Sciences with a very simple motto “Learn, study, improve and become an engineer”. The word engineer is a meaning which is applied in our everyday life. Once the word engineer was associated with triangles, rulers and so on, but today it is technique, technology and everyday applications. As you prepare to become future engineers, your motto will always be design, supervision, construction and engineering. The word engineer, which you hold as a great epithet, has to do with genius and this stems from 1976. But when we are talking about architecture, it also has a very broad concept. The meaning of architecture is the design, construction and realization of various objects. But, in an etymological sense, the word architecture has to do with two words, the word arkos, which means chief, and tectonics- master, builder, which means architects are the main chiefs, the main masters, those who lead the concept of objects in general across institutions. Today, engineering has taken a very big jerk and a very wide application and is used in various professions such as architecture, mechatronics, construction, geology, ecology and so on”, said the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Enis Jakupi.
At the end of this event, Prof. Dr. Kujtim Elezi held a presentation on the topic “About the Architecture”, where he spoke extensively about the history of architecture from the past to the present.
After the solemn opening, the workshops continued according to the planned plan and program in the spaces of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, in coordination with the relevant professors, starting from Figurative Art, with Prof. mr. Burim Ukici, with laboratory visits, with Prof. Dr. Shenasi Zejnelin, work with models with Asst. Dr. Lindihina Goxha and Asst.
