University of Tetova in cooperation with the General Directorate of Archives of the Republic of Albania, today officially inaugurated the Archive Corner in the premises of our University. The inauguration of this corner was made by the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University of Tetova, Asst. Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu and General Director of Archives of Albania, Ardit Bido.
On this occasion, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University of Tetova, Asst. Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu, said that this is a special day for the University of Tetova. According to him, the opening of the Archive Corner of the General Directorate of Archives of Albania is the realization of our continuous efforts for genuine and substantial cooperation with Albanian institutions.
“Now, the physical presence of GDA in the library of the Faculty of Philosophy at UT symbolizes not only these efforts, but also the real opportunity for research by staff and students at the University of Tetova, and other researchers from all over the country. We are grateful for this contribution and support from the General Directorate of Archives. This cooperation was preceded by the signing of a framework agreement between the two institutions, and we hope that it will bring the necessary benefits to the students and to the academic staff. I wish that we continue to build bridges of cooperation with other Albanian institutions “- said Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu
The General Director of the Archives of the Republic of Albania, Ardit Bido said that the opening of this Archive Corner will be a good opportunity for any researcher of this area. “Through this platform, any researcher can request archival documents of the fund rich in over 300 million documents that has the Archive of the state of Albania, that is the entire history of the nation before 1945, including the areas of Macedonia, Kosovo and other areas. Of course, the researcher who will come to the Archive Corner at the University of Tetova will have the facilities through this platform similar as in Tirana. It is a good opportunity for the academic staff of the University of Tetova, your students, but also for all citizens of Tetova, who want to have access to the Albanian archive “- said among other things the director Ardit Bido.
According to the rules of procedure, the Archive Corner serves only for study purposes. If you want property documents, school records, seniority, and other biographical documents of the Republic of Albania, you must apply on the website kerkesa.arkiva.gov.al., outside the Archive. The researcher, while using the Archive Corner, is obliged to follow the regulations of the Library of the University of Tetova. The registration in the study room is done from every computer with internet connection, outside this Archive Corner, at the address katalogu.arkiva.gov.al. After approval, which lasts one working day, you will be provided with an e-mail with the password to enter in the study room. Once you have registered, you can order the files you want to consult, both in this Archive Corner, and on any other computer that has an internet connection, at the address katalogu.arkiva.gov.al. The files ordered by you will be served on the day you have selected in the system and will remain accessible for five working days. If you want to order digital copies of one or more documents you must follow the instructions provided by the system, including payment methods.
