At the University of Tetova was promoted the book “Sons of the Soil” by the author Lucas Dines. This event was attended by the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, deans of the faculties, institution representatives, students and book lovers. The way this book is designed,, its narrative lines, the construction of characters, situations, dialogues and many other qualities that make the novel typical and easily communicable to readers. What makes the novel particularly intriguing and opens up different reading opportunities from both the literary story and the historical-political analysis, the allusion to the small swings of interests of the Great Powers that cause flooding in the small Balkan states that is precisely the setting of the event in the beginning of the 20th century in Macedonia”, – said the of reviewer of the book, Mr. Sc. Vjollca Berisha. The novel encompasses landscapes, spectacular views of people and nature, terrifying images of exodus, corpses, refugees, architecture, personal storytelling, reflections, hope, faith, prejudice, crap, lies, dreams, nightmares, persecution and much more. “When we calculate all this things, translation can not only be a technical work but it is going through experience and in the end, pleasure”, emphasized the translator of the novel, Mr. Sc. Behare Kasami. Those who write do not have the talent of speech, and this is one of the reasons why they write, so they choose to live in silence and shadow. “The book of Lucas does not give you that luxury, it is a book of high density of events, subjects and places,” said his former student Donika Kamberi.
Through this novel, the author wants the peoples of the Balkans to look each other in the eye and strike a balance between light and dark, good and evil, because only then can they feel each other. This is the only way to go forward. “The book is not for an Albanian. It’s neither for Goce Delchev nor for Jane Sandanski of VMRO, who are part of the book, but not the main characters. The main character is our shadow, that deep black darkness in our souls that we all have, but rarely we accept it”, – said the author of the novel “Sons of the Soil”, Lucas Dines.
The book “Sons of the Soil”, was welcomed by the participants who were curious to read from the fact that it contained a very intriguing subject.
