On September 29, 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani, participated in the International Scientific Conference titled: “Issues of Language, Literature, and Literary Translation”, organized by the Faculty of Philology at the University in Gjakova “Fehmi Agani”, in collaboration with the “Hasan Prishtina”, University of Prishtina, the University of Tirana, the Academy of Sciences of Albania, the University of Shkodër“Luigj Gurakuqi”, the University of Tetova, and the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti.
Through virtual communication, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani, stated that this conference is proof that language, literature, and translation are not merely research fields confined to lecture halls, but bridges that connect cultures, generations, and peoples.
“At a time when globalization presents new challenges to our linguistic and cultural identity, the discussions and research to be presented here take on special importance, both in the scientific sphere and at the social and national level”. I am convinced that the papers presented by our scholars will bring new approaches, open up new research horizons, and strengthen inter-university cooperation. Our faculty will always support such initiatives, as they are a guarantee for the further development of Albanian philology and its affirmation in the international academic world”, said, among other things, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani.
At this conference were addressed three main topics. Linguistics – discussions focused on the topic “The Albanian language facing the challenges of linguistic globalization”; Literature – “20th century Albanian literature”; Literary translation – “Contemporary approaches to literary translation”.
