As part of their visit to the University of Tetova, the delegation from the College of Education at Northern Illinois University, consisting of Dr. Mary Earick, Dr. Yenitza Guzman, Dr. Dana Isawi, Dr. Eric Junco, Kristin Lee, and Makbule Irem Pilgir, conducted a packed work agenda on September 18, 2025.

At the premises of the Faculty of Pedagogy, the delegation members conducted two parallel workshops with high school professors and elementary school teachers, focusing on discussions about trauma and socio-emotional skills.

Following the workshops, the guests from the US watched a video documentary about the history of the founding of the University of Tetova, which reflects the difficult path, sacrifices, and resistance of the Albanian population in establishing this Albanian-language institution of higher education in Macedonia at the time.

The agenda for the day concluded with a visit to the Historical Museum of the University of Tetova in the village of Poroj, where the delegation was introduced to authentic evidence of the University’s founding in 1994, daily and periodical press from that time, and other important materials that today serve as study resources for both local and international researchers.

Later, they also visited the recreational-tourist center Kodra e Diellit (Sunny Hill), where they learned about its natural and tourism potential.
