Students of the University of Tetova, specifically from the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics -(FNSM)—Gent Kurtishi, Endrit Zejneli, Arton Useini, and Eldar Mustafa—have won first place in the national competition MKSafeNet Innovators 2025, held at the Max van der Stoel Institute at SEEU, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Festim Halili, a professor in the same department.

During this prestigious hackathon, the UT team conducted a live educational demonstration showing practically how personal data can be compromised through public Wi-Fi networks. The presentation provided a clear and concrete understanding of the real risks of cyberattacks, the most common types of attacks, and effective protection methods that every user and institution should consider.

The competition featured outstanding students from renowned universities and faculties, including FCSE, SEEU, and other universities across the country. The participants were evaluated by a professional committee led by Prof. Dr. Ivan Chorbev, former dean of FCSE, making this achievement even more significant for the University of Tetova. The winning team will have the opportunity to attend a cybersecurity academy free of charge and will continue to compete at the European level.

This achievement highlights the dedication, academic quality, and innovative potential of our professors and students.
