The organization of “Open Day” at the University of Tetova brought together high school seniors from all the cities of North Macedonia and beyond. In parallel with the organization of “Open Day”, in the University Square was organized the Business Fair and Food Technology Fair, where well-known companies exhibited their products.
The stands of the thirteen academic units at the University of Tetova, which promoted study programs for graduates, and the stands of companies participating in the fair, were also visited by the Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti and his team. For the seniors and students who were present in this educational-scientific activity, performed the well-known artist from Albania, Jonida Maliqi, with her song ” Ktheju tokës “, a competing song of Albania at “Eurosong 2019”.
Vice-Rector for Education of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Reshat Qahili, assessed the organization of “Open Day” as an additional opportunity for each student to visit the university premises and to be directly acquainted with the academic offer of studies. “The students who were present today at the University of Tetova, were welcomed by each faculty and were informed in detail by the academic staff of each faculty with all the conditions and opportunities we offer. This year, our University, as a novelty for graduates who will attend the next academic year 2019/2020, based on the proposal – call submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science, is planning to reopen the dispersed programs in Skopje and Kumanovo, with several study programs of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics, and with this we expect to have a considerable increase in the number of new students “, said Prof. Dr. Reshat Qahili.
The Head of the Office for Business Management and Relations of the University of Tetova, Mr. Sc. Vjollca Hasani – Limani, said that in the Business Fair are invited numerous companies operating in our country, in order to affirm the close cooperation that the University of Tetova has created with them. “This is also based on the many meetings we have had with companies in recent times, so that our study plan-programs are tailored to the labor market and the companies’ requirements. Moreover, today students have the opportunity to get acquainted with companies, get acquainted with employment opportunities, or with practical work in companies, so that our graduates and students can turn to and look for jobs in the private sector, as this sector is the one which generates the most new jobs. Therefore, we aim to prepare our students, so that once they graduate, they are ready to work as good and prepared employees for these companies “, said Mr. Sc. Vjollca Hasani – Limani.
The Dean of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition, Prof. Dr. Xhezahir Idrizi, thanked all the companies participating in the Food Technology Fair. According to him, the Food Technology Fair is organized for the third consecutive year now and has transformed into a traditional activity. “Today, it was a pleasure for us as a faculty, to see students from our faculty at the stands of companies. Part of the graduates from the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition are today entrepreneurs or carriers of technological processes in different companies. We, as a university, continue to focus more in the direction of the deficit programs, such as that of IT. I, as a dean, but also together with the Vice Rector for Education and the Rector, often contact these food-producing companies and usually the demand is in that direction, i.e. they need technologists and we mostly focus on the preparation of these staffs and I can proudly state that over 60% of graduates, today are managers or carriers of technological processes precisely in these companies that we mentioned “, emphasized among other things, Prof. Dr. Xhezahir Idrizi.
The “Open Day” at UT ended with a joint meeting between the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti and representatives of companies. In this meeting was discussed the deepening of cooperation between the business sector and the University, where special importance was paid to the practical work of students, as well as to the preparation of professional staff in the technical and technological fields, which are today a necessary labor market need.
