Professor Josef Slapal from the Brno University of Technology paid an official visit to the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Tetova on May 12, 2026, where he also delivered a lecture titled: “Jordan Curves in Digital Space”.
During his visit, Professor Slapal was welcomed by the leadership of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, namely the Dean Prof. Dr. Florim Idrizi, the Vice-Dean for Science Prof. Dr. Ahmed Jashari, and the Head of the Study Program Asst. Prof. Dr. Ylldrita Seferi, as well as the academic staff of the study program of Mathematics. During the meeting, they discussed opportunities for expanding interuniversity cooperation in the field of scientific research, joint projects, and the exchange of academic experiences.
Professor Slapal’s lecture was organized within the framework of the activities and motivational initiatives of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. In his presentation, he addressed the concept of Jordan curves in digital spaces, linking this topic with modern developments in mathematics, topology, and computer science.
The event was opened by the Vice Dean for Science, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Jashari, who spoke about Professor Slapal’s engagement and scientific contribution at the international level. Afterwards, the participants had the opportunity to attend a detailed and contemporary lecture on digital mathematics and its practical applications.
The lecture attracted interest from students and professors from the University of Tetova, as well as participants from the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje. After the lecture concluded, a discussion session was held during which the attendees exchanged ideas and raised questions regarding the scientific aspects of the topic presented. This activity was carried out as a result of communication between the two institutions aimed at creating new opportunities for international cooperation.
