Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani and Prof. Dr. Salajdin Salihi participated in the International Scientific Conference “101st Anniversary of Albanology at the University of Belgrade” organized by the Department of Albanian Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade, proceedings took place on October 27 and 28, 2022. The celebration of the centennial anniversary of the Department of Albanian language and literature at the University of Belgrade is a welcome event for Albanian science, as it is the first Albanian department which is entering the second century of its activity. The academic year 1920/1921 is seen as the beginning of Albanology in Serbia, when in the program of the Seminar of comparative grammar of Indo-European languages the History and Grammar of the Albanian Language by Dr. Henrik Bariqi was included as a new subject. In addition to the great work of Prof. H. Bariq (1888 – 1957), Xhevat Korça (1893 – 1959), Vojislav Dançetović (1905 – 1974) and Idriz Ajeti (1917 – 2019) are honored for their valuable work in the department. During the proceedings of the conference, the Monograph was also promoted on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the teaching of the Albanian language at the University of Belgrade, where professors Sulejmani and Salihi are reviewers of the monograph.
In addition to the scientific papers presented during the proceedings of the conference, Prof. Dr. B. Sulejmani and Prof. Dr. S. Salihi also held lectures with students of the III and IV year of this department. Otherwise, this year, the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade is also a co-organizer of the VII Conference of the Faculty of Philology, which will be held on November 16, 17 and 18 within the framework of the Second Congress of Humanities and Arts at the University of Tetova.
