The leaders of the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Tetova led by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, accompanied by the Vice-Dean for Education, Prof. Dr. Besa Havziu-Ismaili and the ECT coordinator, Dr. Sc. Afërdita Iljazi-Hoxha participated in the international conference “”Post-Pandemic Challenges in Psychology and Education”.
The conference was held in the Republic of Albania and was organized in partnership by the University of Tirana, University of Tetova, AAB College, University of Pristina and other universities.
According to the dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, this conference promotes and encourages interactions between scientific researchers regarding the post- pandemic challenges in psychology and education, because these challenges make us review, rethink and reimagine existing educational theories, models and practices to find the model of appropriate and to contribute to the improvement of students’ well-being. “With the onset of the pandemic, schools around the world, with varying degrees of success, experimented with alternative ways of teaching, used technology and collaborated with educational stakeholders to meet the needs of students. As countries of the Western Balkan region, today we face problems of organizing distance learning for students from low socio-economic backgrounds, we have a growing digital divide, a limited effectiveness of emergent distance learning and a neglect of holistic education. Consequently, the pandemic has contributed to and intensified the physical, mental, social and emotional stress experienced by students and harmed their overall well-being. Therefore, the organization of this International Conference on the main topic that it deals with is a targeted”, said, among other things, the dean of the Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi.
The aforementioned conference offered an opportunity for local and foreign experts to share their thoughts and knowledge, the results obtained from scientific research, the perspectives of future developments and innovative applications important for education in general, with the aim of improving and adapting it with global processes that determine changes in education.
