In the organization of the Albanological Institute of Prishtina, the XV edition of the ” Albanology Week ” will be held for three consecutive days. This scientific event is considered a platform where the problems of spiritual and material culture are discussed. From the University of Tetova, respectively from the Faculty of Philology, the Dean of this academic unit, Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani with the statement “Linguistic norm and the role of the newspaper “Flaka e Vëllazerimit” after the orthography of Prishtina (1964)” and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hana Dardhishta who presented the study titled: “The mutual relations of the standard with the dialectal units”. Along with other researchers, participating in this event of importance for Albanian sciences, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology of UT, has emphasized that the language of our press has been, is and will continue to be the object of attention of Albanian linguists, who, they also look at the press from a linguistic point of view.
“The first issue of the newspaper “Flaka e Vëllazerimit” was published on April 4, 1945 in Skopje. From 1971, they began to publish three issues a week, while from May 26, 1994, “Flaka” became a daily. We have extended the research on the language of the newspaper to four decades of its publication (1970 – 2001). So, the research includes the period after the Orthography of Prishtina (Prishtina, 1964) as well as the period before and after the Albanian Spelling Congress held in Tirana in 1972. The numbers of the years 1970 – 1972 can be said to have played a leading role in the reflection of literary trends (standard Albanian) that settled in Tirana (1972). After the Albanian Spelling Congress (1972), this newspaper took as a national task the implementation of what was decided in Tirana.” – said Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani.
In five sessions that include linguistics, literature, history, ethnology and folklore, this scientific conference aims to bring new results in these Albanian disciplines.
