Within the CEEPUS program and the network ‘SK-1018 – Biology, Biotechnology and Food Science,’ the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition of UT, led by Dean Prof. Dr. Xhezair Idrizi, along with 10 master’s students and 4 professors, made a study visit at the end of May to the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Szeged in Hungary. The comprehensive program included not only scientific lectures and student presentations, but also participation in laboratories, workshops, and factory visits. As part of the CEEPUS mobility program, the workshop entitled “Different Donuts in Different Countries” was organized by the Institute of Food Engineering for professional programs, led by Prof. Dr. Balázs Szabó, and the Institute of Engineering and Economic Management, under the leadership of Dr. József Gál, who is also the Vice-Dean of External Relations.
The students of FFTN and the lecturers from the University of Tetova also visited the bakery factory Szegedi Sütödék Kft, as well as the laboratories of the Institute of Food Engineering. The famous European expert, Mr. Zoltán Győri, prepared a lecture for the attendees, after which the students from the University of Tetova’s Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition presented their lectures. At the end of this visit, the delegation from the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition, along with the students, participated in the Third International Conference on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Economics, held on May 31, 2024, in Szeged, organized by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged.
The main objectives of the ICOSTEE conference include providing opportunities for the dissemination of the latest scientific research, and creating a platform for researchers and industry professionals to discuss previous developments and identify new areas of research and development focus
The coordinator of the program from the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Erhan Sulejmani, assessed that the agenda has made a significant contribution and provided encouragement to students in integrating with the food industry of European Union countries, thereby enhancing cooperation as a potential for training the new framework in our country. During this visit, the Dean of the Engineering Faculty of Szeged University, Prof. Dr. Istvan Biro, bestowed a gratitude to Prof. Dr. Erhan Sulejmani as a sign of genuine cooperation.
Meanwhile, the dean of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition at the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Xhezair Idrizi, highlighted that these projects will contribute to the growth of activities by providing students with practices and experiences that bring new perspectives from experts in innovative technologies in the fields of food engineering and nutrition. The activities will continue in the future by organizing training sessions and specialist professional studies at the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition, offering a new perspective on training with competent experts from European universities.
