The student of the study program – Directing, of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Tetova, Gent Mehmeti, in the framework of the preparation of the diploma play has staged the play “The Zoo Story” by Edward Albee.
This play, in addition to the praise it has received from its professors, has also been awarded several prizes by well-known theaters.
The play “The Zoo Story” by student Gent Mehmeti was realized under the direction of Professor Mehmet Xhelili and director, Asst. MA Qëndrim Rijani.
In cooperation with the Tetovo Theater, the above-mentioned play has been staged at several theater festivals, in two of which it has been awarded the prizes: “Best Director” and “Best Young Actor”.
Asst. MA Qëndrim Rijani, says that the students of the Directing study program at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Tetova, in the framework of the preparation of the diploma play, prepare full plays with all the components, and according to him, one of the plays that have been worked on is “The Zoo Story”, realized by student Gent Mehmeti.
“All performances that are an artistic production of the Faculty of Arts of UT, of the study program of Directing, have participated in festivals and in an agreement with the Theater of Tetova, in addition to being performed at the faculty premises, they have been re-staged even in the theater. “The Zoo Story” has been awarded prizes at recent festivals”, says the director, Asst. MA Qëndrim Rijani.
He considers the artistic achievements of the students to be great successes of the Faculty of Arts, as long as they have managed to prepare competitive performances for professional theaters.
