At the Faculty of Law of the University of Tetova, the first-year students of the Law conducted an improvised court session, with the theme “Consequences of social changes in traditional and contemporary families”.
The Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti was also present at this session who congratulated the students for their dedication during their studies. He said that, for several years now, in various local competitions, the students of the Faculty of Law have proven that they are capable of conducting court sessions and have been awarded with various prizes. According to him, the students’ success enhances the University, as the University helps by preparing them professionally in their careers.
Also, before the realization of this session, a panel discussion dedicated to the consequences of violence in the family was first held. Two members of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Prof. Dr. Arta Bilalli – Zendeli, who was focused on the legal aspects, while the deputy Prof. Dr. Finsike Bekteshi – Shaqiri spoke about social aspects regarding the consequences of domestic violence. In this panel, Prof. Dr. Bashkim Selmani also revealed his views on this phenomenon as the leader of the students in the preparation of the impromptu court session. He also presented the scientific study on the causes of deviation in the family.
The research included 300 respondents from Gostivari, Tetova, Struga, Kumanova, Çairi, Gazi Baba, Likova and Haračina, who answered 12 questions in the Questionnaire entitled: Lack of fair communication and mismanagement of unenviable situations, consequence of the economic crisis and domestic violence. “Through the processing of the answers, we provided disturbing data, related to the way of providing financial means for existence or for any other purpose, a situation that reflects that every third young person is able to flee or leave the homeland, every second young person is at risk from drugs, alcohol, gambling or various games of chance, such as digital risk and other diversions, while every first person does not feel or partially feels happy, calm or motivated that that life will be better here..”, said Prof. Dr. Bashkim Selmani.
The students who performed the impromptu court session were given a book as a symbolic gift for their contribution.The books were given by the UT rector, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli.
