From April 29 to May 6, 2025, the Faculty of Pedagogy at the University of Tetova – the study program Special Education and Rehabilitation– hosted a one-week visit by students and academic staff from the Special Education program of the Faculty of Pedagogy at “Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif” University from Turkey.

The visit began with a welcome by the Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, who presented the institutional and infrastructural development of the University of Tetova. The guests were introduced to the university’s facilities and history, as well as the academic programs offered by the Faculty of Pedagogy.

During their stay, the guests participated in a series of academic and professional activities organized and accompanied by the staff of the study program Special Education and Rehabilitation: Prof. Dr. Buniamin Memedi, Asst. Prof. Dr. Teuta Ramadani Rasimi, MSc. Zana Kadrii, MSc. Blerta Alili, and MSc. Ajshenur Izeti.

As part of the visit, several professional activities were carried out at the following institutions: the “Blue Puzzle” Center – where coordinator Valon Emini presented therapeutic and educational approaches for children with autism spectrum disorders; Primary School “Naim Frashëri” – Tetovo – an institution that implements the inclusive education model, where the guests were welcomed by special educator Adile Abdii; the “IDNINA” Center in Skopje – where Asst. Prof. Dr. Adelina Haskaj presented experiences and challenges in supporting students with special needs; and the Center for Verbal Communication Pathology in Skopje – where the guests were informed about advanced practices in the field of speech therapy and verbal rehabilitation.

In addition to the professional program, the visit was accompanied by cultural activities, providing opportunities for the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of intercultural cooperation between students and academic staff from both universities.

This visit represents an important step in strengthening academic ties between the University of Tetova and higher education institutions in Turkey, with the aim of further collaboration in the fields of inclusive education and special rehabilitation.
