At the University of Tetovo, today was inaugurated the American space, within which will operate the TOEFL iBT test center and will be carried out many joint activities, which will be organized by the University of Tetova and the American Corner in Tetovo.
In the inauguration of this center were present Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, Deputy the Chief of Mission in our country, His Excellency Eric Meyer, the President of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, Coordinator of the American Corner in Tetovo, Mr. Sc. Gëzim Sulejmani, vice-rectors, deans, students and other guests.
Deputy the Chief of Mission in our country, His Excellency Eric Meyer, expressed his satisfaction that he participated in the inauguration of the American space at the University of Tetova, at the same time he highly appreciated the cooperation and partnership that the University of Tetova has with the US Embassy in Skopje and with American Corner in Tetovo.
Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti thanked Deputy the Chief of Mission in our country for the continuous support that the US Embassy is giving to the University of Tetova, for which the academic staff and our students are very grateful. “It is a special pleasure that we have Deputy the Chief of Mission in our country together with the representatives of the American Corner in Tetovo and that we signed an agreement with which the American space will function within the University of Tetovo, we also inaugurated the new TOEFL iBT testing center, which is a very important thing for both our students and employees. I take the opportunity once again to welcome this initiative and express my thanks and gratitude to the American Corner in Tetovo, as well as to the US Embassy for the cooperation and continuous support through various programs, such as Fulbright, Peace Corps and others. From today on, this cooperation, which has been vital for our University, goes to another level, and from today on we will have the opportunity to develop these activities within our spaces with an increased intensity”, said the Rector Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti.
The coordinator of the American Corner in Tetovo, Mr. Sc. Gëzim Sulejmani said that this center is promoted within the 15th anniversary of the operation of this corner and together with the University of Tetova we continue to contribute to the preservation of friendship between our two peoples. “This is a special day for the American Corner, not only we marked 15 years of successful operation through various programs that mark a lasting friendship between our people and the American people, but this day is also made even more marked by the opening of the new TOEFL iBT test center and this test is internationally accepted and affects the increase in the quality of institutions. This will not only serve as a TOEFL iBT center, this American space will also serve to carry out the mission of the American Corner and this cooperation will open a new page for the American Corner, and I believe that, together with the University of Tetova we will have joint activities in different fields”, said Mr. Sc. Gëzim Sulejmani.
The University of Tetova and the American Corner today have also signed a cooperation agreement, which foresees that in the American space, in addition to the TOEFL iBT test center, will be carried out many other different activities, where professors, students, students will be involved of secondary schools, in addition to this, important dates will be marked and at the same time various academic exchanges will be carried out.
