On April 1, 2026, at the Legal Clinic of the Faculty of Law at the University of Tetova, a lecture was held on the topic: “The use of artificial intelligence in a legal setting”.

The lecture was delivered by Professor Karen Westwood, Director of the “Anne W. Grande Law Library” in Hennepin, Minnesota (USA), with extensive professional experience in the fields of law and legal libraries. During this academic year, she is carrying out the Fulbright Scholar program in our country.

Under the moderation of the Vice-Dean for Science of the Faculty of Law, Njomza Selimi – Osmani, Professor Westwood presented to students the ways and opportunities for using artificial intelligence in various legal professions, as well as the importance of its ethical use by students and legal professionals.

She emphasized that artificial intelligence has already become an integral part of contemporary reality, and that the main challenge is not whether it should be used, but how it can be used responsibly, ethically, and professionally.

Prior to the lecture, Professor Karen Westwood was also received by the ECTS Coordinator, Afet Mamuti, who highlighted the importance of the support provided by the United States Embassy in North Macedonia to universities and students through initiatives and activities of this nature.
