The well-known skier from Tetovo, at the same time an assistant at the University of Tetova, at the Faculty of Physical Education, Mr.Sc. Dardan Dehari will participate in the XXIV edition of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, which will take place from 4 to 20 February 2022.
On the eve of the trip to the Republic of China, skier Dardan Dehari was received today by the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Reshat Qahili and Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti. In this meeting was discussed about the achieved success, effort and sacrifices of the skier Dardan Dehari, always with the full and uninterrupted support of our university.
Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Reshat Qahili said that the participation of Dardan Dehari in the Winter Olympics is a great achievement, because first, he honors himself but also us as a university. We as an institution we congratulate Dardan for this success and we hope that the results will not be missing in these international competitions.
Meanwhile, the protagonist, Dardan Dehari said that he has had the main goal this achievement in his career, as the Olympic Games are the most important event for a skier. “I am proud to participate and at the same time thankful for the University of Tetova, that has directly impact on this success, because it is a psychological burden to be a lecturer here and to follow the physical preparations – exercises, since we must leave the state, but fortunately we managed to do it with understanding “, said Dardan Dehari.
As for physical fitness, he said he feels good and hopes that with a little luck he can achieve a positive result. “This year we started from the summer with training and it went as we planned both the preparatory phase and that of the competitions. In the competitions we did very well, I was always in the top 10. So I’m happy with the qualification.
Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti said that every athlete who starts his career has a goal; to participate, to join, to qualify for world championships and the Olympic Games is the peak of an athlete’s career. Skiing is a widespread sport in developed countries and the competition is extremely high, especially in countries that have a much higher economic standard than us. From these areas, Dardan is the first Albanian to participate in the Winter Olympics.

Skier Dardan Dehari will compete in the slalom and giand slalom disciplines on February 13th and 16th. The North Macedonia Expedition to Beijing will travel on Sunday (January 30th). Our University wishes good luck and success to Dardan, with the hope that it will be able to rank as high as possible in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, as such a success would be the success of the University of Tetova itself.
