Today, at the premises of the Food Products Control Laboratory of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition, the Rector of the University of Tetova, accompanied by the President of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Kenan Ferati, and the Vice-Rector for Finance, Prof. Dr. Aida Yzeiri–Baftijari, conducted a visit with the purpose of observing the progress and implementation dynamics of the project financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy.
From the faculty, those present included the Dean, Prof. Dr. Gafur Xhabiri, the Head of the Laboratory, Prof. Dr. Ismail Ferati, and the Head of Laboratory Technicians, MSc. Rejhana Luma.
The Head of the Laboratory, Prof. Dr. Ismail Ferati, presented the progress of the project, which is in its final stage following the installation of the ICP/MS instrument—an advanced technology for detecting heavy metals that makes the laboratory more competitive and research-oriented.
Challenges faced by the laboratory were also discussed, along with possible solutions to strengthen its role in serving state institutions (inspectorates), companies in the food sector, farmers, as well as young researchers and scholars in this field.
Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, commended the dedication of the academic staff and emphasized that the University of Tetova will continue to support the development of scientific and practical capacities, which will contribute to the successful completion of this project.
University of Tetova maintains close cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, and this is the second project funded by the Ministry—the first one in 2021, while the current project is nearing completion. Cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, state institutions, academic bodies, and the private sector remains one of the priorities of our University.
The Food Products Control Laboratory of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition is certified according to the international standard MKC EN/IEC ISO 17025:2018, and its certificates are recognized internationally.
