Through a sports activity in table tennis, the Faculty of Physical Culture of the University of Tetova marked the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace. On August 23, 2013, the UN decided that the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace would take place annually on April 6. This date also marks the opening day of the Modern Olympic Games, which were held in Athens in 1896. The students of the Faculty of Physical Culture, together with the professors of this Faculty, participated in this sporting event at UT.
We hope that this celebrated day will become a traditional event in the coming years. Sporting events should be used to build cultural understanding and promote education, health, economic and social development. The International Day of Sports for Development and Peace aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage young generations to be more active and play sports.
