The labor union of employees of the University of Tetova, represented by its leader, Prof. Dr. Shefket Dehari, and five labor unions of state universities in the Republic of North Macedonia, signed a memorandum of cooperation today in Stip.

Through the signing of this memorandum, the leaders of the unions will commit to improving the economic and social position of employees in all public universities in our country.

The memorandum between these entities regulates mutual cooperation, foresees the implementation of joint activities and coordination among the signatories.

The cooperation will be developed within the legal competencies of the parties, with particular emphasis on the implementation of these points: Collaboration and coordination regarding the establishment of a union of labor unions of employees of public universities, joint action to sign a separate collective agreement in higher education, joint monitoring of the implementation of laws and collective agreements regulating the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of employees in public universities, cooperation in organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and roundtable discussions with national and international character, organization of trade union schools, promotion of activities of interest to employees, Preparation and application for projects, preparation of analyses, expert opinions, research, and exchange of information for common needs.

Through activities and projects, training will be provided for trade union members, including: ensuring mutual support and solidarity among employees of public universities; sharing experiences and positive practices from trade union work; organization events and activities in the interest of union members; increasing awareness of the importance of social dialogue at all levels; expanding the network of cooperation with other institutions and organizations; mutual consultation and information on issues of interest to union members in public universities; consulting with organizations and institutions responsible for the functioning of social dialogue in higher education; consultations regarding the proposal of trade union representatives in bodies and mechanisms with authority for social dialogue in the state; reaction to situations where labor rights are reduced; organizing university sports games and other areas where agreement is reached by the signatories.

The signatories, within the framework of mutual cooperation for the needs of organization of training and other activities, will conduct exchanges of lecturers, experiences, and knowledge, including the utilization of spatial capacities. Among other things, the parties agreed to hold meetings or gatherings to review progress and solutions for the implementation of agreed activities.
