Rector of the University of Tetova Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli together with the President of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Neziri, and the Vice-Rector for Science Prof. Dr. Agon Memeti, participated in the annual Magna Charta Observatory Conference that was organized on October 23 at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, US.
The topic of the conference was: ” Universities, Governments, and Democracy: International Challenges, Lessons Learned and Future Strategy” addressing issues such as academic freedom, university autonomy, governance, diversity, the role of students and what added value they present to the service of the common good.
Representatives of the various participating institutions and associations talked about the different experiences trying to define the same denominator in order to pave the way for the design of a strategy for the preservation of university autonomy, as a key point for fulfilling the mission and responsibility that every university has before society.
Such activities serve as a platform for the exchange of good practices, expertise and recommendations to be in line with the values and fundamental principles set out in the Magna Charta.
At the end of the conference, the Rector of the UT presented a portrait of Mother Teresa to the President of Johns Hopkins University as a symbol of universal humanity.
Meanwhile, the President of the Senate of the UT presented the Monograph of the UT, while to the President of the Magna Charta Governing Council was presented with a portrait of our national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti-Skanderbeg.
